Domain name choices play an important role in website visibility. This research investigates the effect of the choice between single-word and hyphenated domain names on website visibility. Secondly, the users’ opinions when they have to choose between the two are recorded and evaluated. Results indicate that users prefer non-hyphenated domain names as they were easier to remember. At the same time, they were afraid of the risk associated with spamdexing in hyphenated domain names.en_US
