Title: Recognition of Prior Learning for Community-based Paralegals
Authors: Department of Applied Legal Studies
Issue Date: Nov-2019
Publisher: Cape Peninsula University of Technology
Abstract: SUMMARY The South African paralegal education landscape is fragmented, with too few programmes accredited by the Higher Education Quality Council (HEQC) or the Quality Council for Trade and Occupations (QCTO) to provide the requisite educational support for the institutionalisation and sustainability of an array of paralegal services rendered by the paralegal sector. This, inarguably, contributes to the growing unmet primary legal and quasi-legal needs of South African society.
