Women and small scale entrepreneurship: Perspective from the SADC region

Abstract

Globally, entrepreneurship is considered as a means to create jobs and improve social and economic conditions of a country. Particularly, in the context of developing countries, owing to high unemployment rate, social inequality, and high levels of poverty, the need for entrepreneurship is further emboldened. Essentially, of late, most discussions on entrepreneurial empowerment have focused on the youth and women.
