Dr. Lalini Reddy is currently the Faculty of Applied Sciences Work-Integrated Learning Co-ordinator of Cape Peninsula University of Technology. In this position she oversees the quality and management of both Work-Integrated Learning and Community Service Learning integration into the curricula. She establishes and promotes external linkages with industry, SETAs, govt. organisations and communities. Dr Reddy brings her 26 years of academic experience with her from the Durban University of Technology where she engaged in lecturing undergraduate students in microbiology, analytical biochemistry and Immunology and supervised 6 Masters and 2 doctoral students. She was actively involved in curriculum renewal, programme quality audits, work-integrated learning (WIL), community service learning (CSL) projects and the introduction of General Education (GE) and Internationalisation of the Curriculum (IoC) at DUT. As head of the Biotechnology programme she lead a curriculum team for the successfully accreditation of the new Biotechnology and Food Science and Technology diplomas and degrees in 2013. Dr Reddy has a passion for uplifting the education system and to this end has been promoting value-based education in South Africa since 1988. She is a qualified trainer of the international Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) system. She has been training children and teachers and other members of the community ever since. Currently, she is the Director of the South African Institute of Sathya Sai Education (SAISSE) as also serves on the International Education Committee for Sathya Sai Education.



Dr. Reddy has attended 12 international conferences in Plant Biotechnology specialising in Traditional plant medicine and value-based Education since 1997. Her peer-reviewed publications in high impact factor journals have thusfar earned her 350 citations. Dr Reddys latest research niche area is biofuels as she responds to the government legislation calling for the introduction of 2-10% introduction of bioethanol for transportation by October 2015. She has facilitated a Collaboration Agreement between CPUT and the National Institute of Bio-energy in Punjab, India. She has is a member of the International Advisory Committee for the journal International Conferences on Recent Advances in Bio-Energy Research (ICRABR).
