Their usefulness arises due to advances in satellite and space technology. However, the usefulness of space based solar power systems (and satellites) faces threats from the increased deployment of anti - satellite weapons and evolving Astro-politics. Therefore, there is need to design mechanisms to protect in-orbit space solar satellites. The research presented proposes a data deterrence approach and a novel multi-orbital mechanism for space solar satellites. The space solar satellites using the multi-orbital mechanism can switch to different orbits thereby making weapon target more difficult.
