Biography
Innocent Zitha is a Lecturer specialising in English Academic Literacy, Sociolinguistics, Linguistics and Academic Writing within the Department of English, Media Studies and Linguistics in the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education at the University of Venda. He holds a Master’s degree in English Language Teaching from the University of Venda, an Honours degree in English Language Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Media Studies, with a specialisation in English and Applied Linguistics. His experience in the field of Higher Education spans over six years. In this time, he has presented ten papers at various national and international conferences. Furthermore, he has authored and co-authored 33 Publications (29 papers and 4 book chapters) in DHET accredited and peer-reviewed journals, thereby contributing significantly to the disciplines of Linguistics, Academic Literacy, English Language usage, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. He is presently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in English Language, Linguistics and literature at the University of South Africa.
