Biography
Sinawo Nomandela completed the National Diploma (NDip), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), and Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical Power Systems Engineering at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in 2016, 2018, and 2021. He worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the Center for Substation Automation and Energy Management Systems (CSAEMS) at CPUT from 2018 to 2020. He was also appointed as a Junior Lecturer from January 2021 to December 2022 and then as a Lecturer from January 2023 to June 2023 in the same institution. Since July 2023, he has been a Lecturer at Walter Sisulu University (WSU) while registered (since 2022) for his Doctor of Engineering (DEng) with CPUT.
In 2016, he worked for Protea Chemicals as a Learner Technician for his internship and gained experience in the maintenance of plant machinery. He also worked for LH Marthinusen where he was employed as an Apprentice in Small Motor Rewinding.
His research interests include power system stability, power system protection, control and monitoring, and renewable power plants (RPPs) and their integration into the grid. Lately, he also found interest in engineering education.
