Biography
Nande Dlelanga is a master’s candidate in Food Science and Technology at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and an active researcher within the Edible Insect Research Group. Her research is centered on enhancing global food security by optimising the nutritional and functional properties of edible insects. She aims to bridge traditional entomophagy with modern food processing techniques to develop scalable, sustainable, and high-quality food solutions.
Her current work focuses on protein quality, characterisation and new product development, with a strong interest in advancing the field of alternative proteins. She is passionate about exploring innovative approaches to food science that address both sustainability and nutritional challenges.
She is eager to connect with fellow researchers, food scientists, and sustainability advocates to collaborate on projects that shape the future of food.
