Biography
Dr. O.P Bamidele is a senior lecturer in the Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Venda, South Africa. He is an expert in functional drinks, encapsulation of bioactive compounds, starch chemistry, extrusion cooking of foods, food processing, and preservation. He is an editor for high impact factor journals such as Food Chemistry, Food Production, Processing, and Nutrition, and the International Journal of Food Science and Technology, to mention a few. He obtained his Ph.D. in the Department of Consumer and Food Sciences, University of Pretoria, in 2018, his Master's in Food Science and Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, in 2011, and his BSc. with honours in the same field (Food Science and Technology) in 2006. He received a higher national diploma in food technology and a national diploma in the same field (food technology) in 2002 and 1998, respectively. He has over 32 peer-reviewed publications and four book chapters. He has co-supervised a Ph.D. and Master's student to completion and is presently co-supervising two PhD students. He has attended international and local conferences where he presented both oral and poster presentations of his findings in food.
