Biography
Dr Clive Jimmy William Brown is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), South Africa. He is the Teaching Practice (Work Integrated Learning) Coordinator for the Intermediate Phase and serves as the Chairperson of the Faculty of Education Transformation Committee. His work focuses on Teacher Education, Initial Teacher Education (ITE), Teaching Practicum, Curriculum Studies, Educational Policy, Higher Education Studies, and Social Justice in Education. Dr Brown holds a PhD in Education from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2024), with research focusing on power dynamics in student teachers' practicum placements. He is actively involved in academic writing mentorship, curriculum transformation, and professional development within higher education. As a scholar, Dr Brown contributes to critical pedagogy, educational sociology, and transformative higher education practices, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity, gender diversity, and equity in education. He has presented research at international conferences and is an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Education and Teaching and Transformation in Higher Education (THE). Dr Brown is a member of: South African Education Research Association (SAERA) Literacy Association of South Africa (LITASA) Education Association of South Africa (EASA) He has been an invited speaker at various national and international academic events and is committed to transformative education research, mentorship, and the advancement of teacher education in South Africa and beyond.
