Biography
Prof. Sheena Kumari, is a fulltime Professor and NRF rated (C2) researcher at Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology. She is currently leading wastewater research group within the Institute. Prof Kumari’s research interest includes biological wastewater treatment, water quality and health, wastewater-based epidemiology etc. She has successfully supervised 10 Doctoral and 15 Master’s students and mentored more than 6 Post Doctoral fellows. Prof. Kumari was also recognized for her contribution to science and was a recipient (1st Runner up) for DST South African Woman in Science Award (2019), Vice Chancellor award (creative project) (2022), faculty researcher of the year (2022) top published research fellow from DUT and Faculty of Applied Science research excellence award (20220) and DUT’s top impact factor author award (2020).
