Biography
Translational Oncology researcher with over 15 years of experience in cancer molecular biology, genomics, and proteomics. Holds a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from the Institute of Biosciences at the University of São Paulo (IB–USP, 2002) and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences at the same university (ICB–USP, 2007). Completed his postdoctoral training at ICB–USP (2008–2009) and at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB, South Africa, 2011–2014), focusing on tumor molecular biology and cell signaling mediated by oncogenes, particularly tyrosine kinase receptors, drug resistance, and cancer-related signaling pathways. Served as a Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Goiás (2016–2020), where he lectured at post graduate-level courses and supervised students in the Program in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Institute of Biological Sciences (PGBM–ICB–UFG). From 2020 to 2021, worked as a Clinical Research Associate at InTrials. Worked as a Senior Scientist at ICGEB (South Africa), leading multi-omics research in prostate cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, as well as projects focused on understanding resistance mechanisms to cancer therapies. Author of several peer-reviewed scientific articles and active reviewer for international journals. Has strong experience in securing competitive funding (NRF–SA, FAPEG/CNPq, FAPESP, Yamagiwa–Yoshida). Currently he is a Staff Scientist at the Laboratório de Oncologia Experimental no Centro de Investigação Translacional em Oncologia (CTO) do Instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo (ICESP, contributing to research projects on therapeutic resistance mechanisms, tumor metabolism, and microRNA regulation, with emphasis on integrative omics approaches.
