Abstract

This book offers practical hands-on type advice as to how to manage ISproject risk.The first four chapters are general background to IS Project Risks.Chapter 1 highlights the current context of IS in an inter-networkedworld, and places in perspective the issue of IS risk management withinthe broader practice of IS success management. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 describethe nature of the risks which IS projects face and some ideas as to howthese risks present themselves and what type of actions can be taken toameliorate them.From Chapter 5 onwards we present a framework for the identificationand management of IS project risks which may be used as a practicalhands-on approach to project risk management.Chapter 12, unlike the other chapters, presents a case study whichillustrates how the IS project risk framework described in the book may
