Dr. Elisha Rufaro T. Chiware: is the Director of Cape Peninsula University of Technology Libraries. In this position he oversees the strategic management of libraries on the delivery of its mission, articulating the libraries external environment to the HEI sector nationally and internationally. Also responsible for planning, direction and innovation in order to align CPUT libraries at all levels and to ensure internal effectiveness and efficiency with all the university’s faculties and units.



Dr Elisha Chiware is also the current Secretary of IATUL (International Association of Scientific and Technological University Libraries Board (2012-2014), he is an active member of LIASA – Library and Information Association of South Africa, he serves on the IFLA Section on Statistics and Evaluation (2011 - ) and is an Executive member of the Committee for Higher Education Libraries in South Africa – Executive Committee member (2011 – 2014).



Dr. Elisha Chiware has also worked in libraries in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. He has published over 15 articles, two books and presented several papers at international conferences. He has also worked as an information management consultant – establishing trade information centres in the East, South and Central African region.
