Abstract: Every month Google updates its databases. During and after Google updates its Databases the ranking of the website change. A particular website's ranking might increase or decrease or not change at all. The Search Engine Optimisation specialist has a vested interest in the monthly Google updates, as they affect the ranking of websites. The SearchEngine Industry closely monitors each monthly update and has coined many terms to describe how Google updates its Databases. This paper is a literature study and will focus on the Google update process as perceived by the Search Engine Optimisation Industry.
